FAQ

Product & Material Questions

What are the benefits of brass switch plates?

Brass is durable, corrosion-resistant, and naturally elegant. It adds a timeless, luxurious touch to interiors and is easy to maintain.

Are brass switch plates safe for electrical use?

Yes — brass is a strong, non-corrosive material that protects electrical components while enhancing aesthetics.

Do your switch plates fit U.S. electrical standards?

Yes — all our plates and components are designed to fit standard U.S. electrical boxes. Just ensure the back box matches your plate type (toggle, dimmer, outlet, etc.).

Can I customize brass switch plates or dimmers?

Yes, you can! Use our Product Configurator to design your own custom switch plate—choose layouts, finishes, engraving, and more. Just click the link to start building.

Dimmers & Lighting Compatibility

Are your dimmers compatible with LED lights?

Yes — our dimmers use leading-edge TRIAC technology, which works with most dimmable LED and halogen bulbs.
To avoid flickering, always choose LED bulbs clearly labeled as “dimmable” and “TRIAC-compatible” or “leading-edge compatible.”

Which types of bulbs are compatible with your dimmers?

Our dimmers support:

  • Dimmable LED bulbs (marked for TRIAC/leading-edge use)
  • Incandescent bulbs
  • Halogen bulbs

They are not compatible with:

  • Non-dimmable bulbs
  • Smart bulbs with internal dimming
  • Low-voltage LEDs with electronic drivers (unless TRIAC-compatible)

If unsure, ask us before buying — we’re happy to help.

Can I use any bulb with a dimmer switch?

No. Always check the bulb packaging for "dimmable" labeling. Using non-dimmable bulbs with a dimmer may cause flickering or damage.

Care & Maintenance

How do I maintain your brass switch plates and dimmers?

Our products are coated with a clear lacquer. Wipe them gently with a soft, dry or damp cloth. Avoid abrasives.

How do I clean tarnished brass?

Use a brass polish or a natural DIY mix (vinegar, salt, and flour). Apply gently and wipe clean. Avoid harsh cleaners or scrubbing tools.

Orders, Shipping & Returns

How long does it take to receive my order?

Processing or production happens before dispatch and is separate from shipping. After dispatch, light switches and electrical hardware usually arrive in approximately 4–9 business days; cabinet handles and cabinet hardware usually arrive in approximately 6–14 business days. Custom and made-to-order products may require an additional 1–3 weeks before dispatch. A more precise estimate shown on a product page takes precedence.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes — while our main market is the United States, we do ship worldwide.

Can I order product samples?

Yes — we offer samples so you can review finishes and quality before committing to a full order.

What if something arrives damaged?

Contact us as soon as reasonably possible with your order number and clear photographs of the product, packaging, and issue. Depending on the circumstances, we may arrange replacement components, a replacement product, a prepaid return, a full or partial refund, or another appropriate resolution. Please wait for our instructions before returning or disposing of the item.

Can I return or exchange custom items?

Configurator products made entirely from return-eligible standard catalogue components may be returned within 30 days if unused and uninstalled. Personalized, engraved, genuinely custom, or made-to-order products are final sale. All unlacquered brass products; all 3-, 4-, 5-, and 6-gang switches, switchplates, outlets, and dimmers; open-box products; and installed or used products are also final sale for change-of-mind purposes.

What is your return policy?

Most eligible standard products may be returned within 30 days of delivery if unused, uninstalled, complete, and in original condition. Customers pay return shipping for change-of-mind returns, and there is no standard restocking fee. Final-sale exclusions apply. Read the full Returns & Refunds Policy.
