Terms of Service

By accessing, browsing, or purchasing from this website you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not place an order or use this website. Your continued use of the Site following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Article 1

General Conditions

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason permitted by applicable law.
  • Prices, product details, specifications, finishes, and availability are subject to change without prior notice.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site or its services at our discretion, without liability to you or any third party.
  • Your continued use of the Site following any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

Article 2

Order Acceptance & Fulfillment

  • All orders placed through the Site are offers to purchase and are subject to our acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for reasons including, but not limited to, suspected fraud, product availability, or pricing errors.
  • Standard (non-custom) orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days, unless otherwise specified on the product page or at checkout.
  • Order modifications or cancellations are accepted within 12 hours of placement. After that window, changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed.
  • Production of custom-made items begins immediately upon order confirmation. Custom-made items include, but are not limited to:
    • Engraved plates and custom laser-engraved items
    • Unlacquered aged brass plates and finishes
    • All 3-gang, 4-gang, and 5-gang configurations
    • Any made-to-order or special-request layout
  • Custom-made items are non-cancelable and non-returnable once production has begun.
  • Typical production time for custom configurations is approximately 2–3 weeks, depending on complexity and order volume. This timeframe is an estimate and does not constitute a guaranteed delivery date.

12-hour modification window

To request a change or cancellation, contact us at info@plateprestige.com within 12 hours of placing your order, including your order number and the specific change requested.


Article 3

Payment Terms

  • All prices are displayed in U.S. Dollars (USD) unless otherwise indicated.
  • Payment in full is required at checkout. Orders will not be processed until payment has been successfully authorised.
  • We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shopify Payments. Accepted payment methods are subject to change at our discretion.
  • By submitting payment information, you represent and warrant that you are authorised to use the chosen payment method and that all payment details provided are accurate and complete.

Article 4

Shipping & Delivery

  • Available shipping methods, estimated delivery timeframes, and associated costs are displayed at checkout.
  • All shipping and delivery timelines are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays caused by carriers, customs processing, weather conditions, or other factors outside our control do not constitute a breach of these Terms.
  • Risk of loss and title for items pass to you upon our delivery of the order to the carrier.
  • International customers are responsible for all applicable customs duties, taxes, import fees, and brokerage charges. For U.S. domestic orders, applicable duties are typically included in the purchase price.
  • If a shipment is refused, undeliverable, or returned due to non-payment of duties, an incorrect address, or failure to collect, any associated costs — including return shipping — may be deducted from any applicable refund.

Article 5

Return & Exchange Policy

We want you to be fully satisfied with your purchase, while maintaining product safety and integrity. The following conditions apply to all returns and exchanges.

  • Returns for non-custom, non-engraved items are accepted within 14 days of delivery, based on the delivery date confirmed by the carrier.
  • All return requests must be submitted through our official Return Form or via the Contact page before sending any items back.
  • Unless an item is received defective or incorrect, the customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping.
  • Returned products must not be installed or have had installation attempted, must be in original unused condition, and must include all original packaging, screws, accessories, and components.
  • Items showing signs of installation or use — including tool marks, bent terminals, cut or stripped wires, scratches, removed protective films, missing screws, or altered finishes — will not qualify for a refund or exchange and may be returned to you at your expense.
  • Dimmer switch returns due to lighting incompatibility are not accepted. It is the customer's responsibility to verify that their fixtures and LED drivers are compatible with TRIAC leading-edge dimmers as specified in the product description.
  • We strongly recommend ordering one sample dimmer or plate to test compatibility and appearance before placing a large or project-wide order.
Non-Returnable Items — No Exceptions: The following items cannot be returned or exchanged under any circumstances.
  • Custom or engraved items
  • Unlacquered aged brass plates and finishes
  • All 3-gang, 4-gang, and 5-gang switch plates
  • Knobs, pulls, handles, and hardware accessories
  • Any custom layout or special-request configuration
  • Open box items — all open box sales are final

Where a refund is approved, it will be processed to the original method of payment, minus any applicable shipping costs and restocking fees. For full details, please refer to our Return & Exchange Policy page.


Article 6

Intellectual Property

  • All logos, trademarks, product designs, photographs, graphics, written content, and other materials displayed on this Site are the exclusive property of PlatePrestige and/or BrightHub Innovations, or are used under licence.
  • No content from this Site may be copied, reproduced, modified, distributed, transmitted, publicly displayed, or otherwise used without our prior written permission.
  • Any unauthorised use of our intellectual property may result in legal action.

Article 7

Limitation of Liability

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes, including the U.S. National Electrical Code where applicable.
  • PlatePrestige is not responsible for injury, property damage, or loss of any kind arising from improper installation or wiring; use contrary to local electrical codes or regulations; overloading electrical circuits or using non-rated bulbs or devices; modifications, alterations, or misuse of any product; or incompatible dimmer loads or non-compliant electrical systems.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to your purchase or use of our products is limited to the amount you paid for the specific product giving rise to that claim.
  • In no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, regardless of the cause of action or theory of liability.

Article 8

Product Certifications & Compliance

  • Internal electrical components — including certain dimmers, outlets, and toggle mechanisms — may carry UL or cULus listing where explicitly stated on the relevant product page.
  • Decorative components — including smooth toggles, brass plates, decorative knobs, and aged finishes — are not UL-certified. This is standard practice for decorative hardware components of this type.
  • UL or equivalent certification may be required for certain inspected commercial or public-use projects. It is the customer's sole responsibility to confirm these requirements before purchasing.

Customer responsibilities

  • Verify that the products you purchase comply with your local electrical code, building regulations, and any applicable inspection requirements.
  • By purchasing non-UL decorative components, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for their installation and use.
  • PlatePrestige does not assume liability for installation errors, code violations, or incompatibility with non-compliant electrical systems.

Article 9

Intended Use

  • PlatePrestige products are designed primarily for indoor residential use, unless otherwise specified on the product page.
  • All installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified professional.
  • If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable for your intended application, we encourage you to consult a qualified professional or contact us before placing an order.

Article 10

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States and the laws of the state in which PlatePrestige operates, without giving effect to any conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms, this Site, or any purchase made through the Site will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located within the applicable state of operation of PlatePrestige. You expressly consent to such jurisdiction and venue.
