If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not place an order or use this website. Your continued use of the website following any updates to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

1. General Conditions

  • We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, at any time, for any reason permitted by applicable law.
  • Prices, product details, specifications, finishes, and availability are subject to change without prior notice.
  • We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website or its services at our discretion, without liability to you or any third party.
  • Your continued use of the website following any changes to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Order Acceptance and Fulfillment

  • All orders placed through the website are offers to purchase and are subject to our acceptance. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order for reasons including, but not limited to, suspected fraud, product availability, or pricing errors.
  • Standard non-custom orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days, unless otherwise specified on the product page or at checkout.
  • Order modifications or cancellations are accepted within 12 hours of placement. After that period, changes or cancellations cannot be guaranteed.
  • Production of custom-made items may begin shortly after order confirmation. Custom-made items include, but are not limited to:
    • Engraved plates and custom laser-engraved items
    • Custom finishes or other order-specific modifications
    • Made-to-order or special-request layouts
  • Custom-made items are non-cancelable and non-returnable once production has begun, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
  • Typical production time for custom configurations is an additional 1–3 weeks, depending on complexity and order volume. This timeframe is an estimate and does not constitute a guaranteed delivery date.

12-hour modification window: To request a change or cancellation, contact us at info@plateprestige.com within 12 hours of placing your order. Include your order number and the specific change requested.

3. Payment Terms

  • All prices are displayed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.
  • Payment in full is required at checkout. Orders will not be processed until payment has been successfully authorized.
  • We accept major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Shopify Payments. Accepted payment methods are subject to change.
  • By submitting payment information, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to use the selected payment method and that all payment details provided are accurate and complete.

4. Shipping and Delivery

  • Available shipping methods, estimated delivery timeframes, and associated costs are displayed at checkout.
  • All shipping and delivery timelines are estimates and are not guaranteed. Delays caused by carriers, customs processing, weather conditions, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control do not constitute a breach of these Terms.
  • Risk of loss and title pass as provided by applicable law and the terms of the selected shipping service.
  • International customers are responsible for applicable customs duties, taxes, import fees, and brokerage charges. For U.S. domestic orders, applicable import duties are typically included in the purchase price.
  • If a shipment is refused, undeliverable, or returned because of non-payment of duties, an incorrect address, or failure to collect it, associated costs, including return shipping, may be deducted from any applicable refund to the extent permitted by law.

5. Returns and Exchanges

Most eligible standard products may be returned within 30 days of delivery if they are unused, uninstalled, complete, and in their original condition. Customers are responsible for return shipping for voluntary change-of-mind returns. No standard restocking fee applies, although a refund may be reduced if returned merchandise is used, damaged, incomplete, missing components, or otherwise materially reduced in value.

Final-sale products include all unlacquered brass products; all 3-gang, 4-gang, 5-gang, and 6-gang switches, switchplates, outlets, and dimmers; genuinely custom, personalized, engraved, or made-to-order products; open-box products; and products that have been installed, wired, used, modified, cut, drilled, or altered.

Configurator products made entirely from return-eligible standard catalogue components may be returned under the normal 30-day policy. A configured product is final sale if it includes a final-sale component or genuinely custom production.

Final-sale restrictions apply to change-of-mind returns and do not remove rights relating to defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied, or materially misdescribed products, or rights that apply under law. Full details are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Dimmer Compatibility & Customer Responsibility

Our dimmers use 120V leading-edge (forward-phase/TRIAC) dimming. They are not ELV/reverse-phase dimmers and do not support lighting systems that require trailing-edge, 0–10V or smart dimming control.

Before ordering, customers are responsible for confirming compatibility of the exact fixture, bulb or LED driver with the selected dimmer model, including dimming method, voltage, wiring, and minimum and maximum load. Have your electrician and lighting manufacturer verify the combination; matching voltage or a “dimmable” or “TRIAC-compatible” label alone does not guarantee compatibility.

Lighting incompatibility alone is not grounds for a return, exchange or refund under our voluntary return policy. This includes flickering, buzzing or limited dimming caused solely by an incompatible lighting load.

This exclusion does not apply to defective, damaged, incorrectly supplied or materially misdescribed products, and does not limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded. Discretionary goodwill partial refunds may be offered on a case-by-case basis.

6. Intellectual Property

All content on this website—including text, images, graphics, logos, product designs, documentation, and software—is owned by PlatePrestige, operated by BrightHub Innovations, MB, or its licensors and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual-property laws.

The interactive product configurator available on this website under “Build Your Own,” including its 3D models, texture assets, rendered preview images, visual presentation, and underlying code, was developed for PlatePrestige and constitutes proprietary intellectual property of PlatePrestige and BrightHub Innovations, MB.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, scrape, extract, reverse engineer, publicly display, or commercially exploit website content—including product images, descriptions, configurator assets, or customer review media—without prior written permission, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.

Customer photographs and other user-submitted content remain owned by their respective authors. By submitting content to PlatePrestige, the submitting party grants PlatePrestige a non-exclusive license to use and display that content in connection with its business, subject to applicable law and any separate agreement.

7. Installation and Limitation of Liability

Installation must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with the product instructions and all applicable local, state, and national electrical codes, including the U.S. National Electrical Code where applicable.

  • To the extent permitted by law, PlatePrestige is not responsible for injury, property damage, or loss arising from improper installation or wiring; installation or use contrary to applicable codes, regulations, product ratings, or manufacturer instructions; circuit overloading; incompatible lighting loads; unauthorized modifications or alterations; misuse; or a defective or non-compliant electrical system.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PlatePrestige’s total liability for a claim arising from the purchase or use of a product is limited to the amount paid for the specific product giving rise to the claim.
  • To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PlatePrestige will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption.
  • Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

8. Product Certifications and Compliance

  • Only the specific electrical mechanisms expressly identified on the applicable product page or in the relevant certification documentation are UL Listed, cULus Listed, or otherwise certified.
  • Any certification applies solely to the manufacturer, model number, configuration, ratings, and conditions stated in the applicable certification documentation.
  • Decorative components—including brass wall plates, smooth toggle levers, decorative knobs or handles, screws, and surface finishes—are not independently UL Listed or certified unless expressly stated on the applicable product page.
  • Certification of an internal switch, dimmer, or receptacle mechanism does not automatically extend to decorative components and does not constitute UL certification of the complete PlatePrestige assembled product.
  • A decorative finish may change a product’s appearance without changing the published electrical ratings of the underlying certified mechanism. This does not mean that the finish or complete finished assembly has been evaluated, Listed, or certified by UL or another Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory.
  • Product approval and installation requirements vary by jurisdiction, property, project, and intended use. A landlord, project specification, electrical inspector, building department, or other Authority Having Jurisdiction may require additional documentation, a separately listed wall plate, certification of the complete assembly, or a site-specific field evaluation.
  • Before ordering or installing a product, the customer must confirm the applicable electrical-code, building, landlord, project, inspection, and certification requirements with a licensed electrician and the relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction.
  • PlatePrestige cannot guarantee that a product will be accepted for a particular project or inspection unless that acceptance has been confirmed by the relevant authority.

Customer responsibilities:

  • Review the certification information stated on the applicable product page and in the documentation supplied with the product.
  • Verify suitability and acceptance with a licensed electrician and the relevant Authority Having Jurisdiction before purchase and installation, particularly for commercial, public-use, multifamily, inspected, or landlord-controlled projects.
  • Ensure that all conductive metal components are installed and bonded or grounded as required by the applicable electrical code and the certified mechanism manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Do not describe or label the complete PlatePrestige assembly as UL Listed unless PlatePrestige has supplied documentation expressly certifying that complete assembly.

9. Intended Use

  • PlatePrestige products are designed primarily for indoor residential use unless another intended use is expressly stated on the applicable product page.
  • All electrical installation must be performed by a licensed electrician or another professional legally qualified to perform the work in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable for your intended application, consult a qualified professional or contact us before placing an order.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising from them will be governed by the applicable laws determined under relevant conflict-of-law and consumer-protection rules.

Any dispute will be submitted to a court or other forum having lawful jurisdiction. Nothing in these Terms deprives a consumer of mandatory rights, protections, or forums available under applicable law.
